Color of Love is the culmination of my debut showcase at Decorex Johannesburg 2025, followed by my participation in the Color of Love exhibition at The Resource Gallery in Melville. These works marked my first deep exploration into sculpturised portraiture. Drawing inspiration from Shona stone sculpture, I was interested not only in its immortal figures but also in the material heritage embedded in African craft traditions. What emerged were mixed‑media portraits carrying lived memory—flower motifs cut from bottle caps, leather patches, and textured surfaces that echo both resilience and tenderness. Through these materials, the series becomes a tactile meditation on identity, inheritance, and the quiet beauty found in what we choose to preserve.
