Postcards from the Future is full of intent and promise. The work draws deeply from the visual legacies of Malik Sidibé, Tamuka Mtengwa, and the sculptural poise of Shona stone carving. Portraiture anchors the series, offering a sense of place and belonging while asking how we become again, and how we move into a future shaped by resilience. My people have endured so much, and this body of work is an act of reimagining—an invitation to envision what comes next. I think of it as Afro‑futuristic: creating characters who feel otherworldly yet entirely attainable, embodiments of possibility. Through them, I hope to open a doorway into a future where Black presence is expansive, self-defined, and beautifully unbound.
